Troubleshooting browser crashes or performance issues on Windows 11
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
When I download a PDF it downloads fine, when I try to save it EDGE locks up and I cannot save the document. Also if I try to print and then print as PDF it also locks up. Any ideas?

Hi, thanks again for the reply.
I just asked the Q in Perplexity AI and it advised me to empty the CACHE in the Browser and it worked.
Maybe I missed this step from your first post but at least it is sorted now.

Thank you for the reply. I believe the issue lies with the OS, since Chrome and Edge both have the same problem. What about Firefox?
Type "winver" in the search/Run box and press enter.
What is the Build and version number reported in the Window?
Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
Tried all the above and even downloaded Chrome Beta & still the same.
Be it Edge or Chrome, when I download a PDF and then try to save it, the browser/save panel freezes. I can see and read the PDF but will not save anywhere!
I had a similar issue with a program called Lightburn & this was fixed using the Trouble-shooter app & it used a compatibility test and fixed the issue.
But the saving from a download simply freezes every time. I have done chdsk and a few other cmd prompt utilities but nothing has fixed it so far.
Hope someone has some ideas.

Let us try Resetting Edge Settings to defaults using the steps below, in the hope it helps.
Click on the three-dot menu button on the right.
Click on Settings.
Click on Reset settings.
Click on Restore settings to their default values.
Click on Reset.
2nd step: Sometimes extensions on the web browser might cause unintended behaviour. Please click the three dots menu again, and choose extensions.
Click Manage extensions.
Disable all of them for testing purposes, and let me know if it works.
