Outlook Today - reoccuring meeting not prompting to open just this one instance or series.

example

Outlook Today - shows meeting for today, when open it, doesn't prompt to open that occurrence or the series. When it does open it opens the original series invite, not the changes that were received today. Its not opening the current meeting for that day. Have tried on other computers same issue.

But if you open the meeting from the calendar or to ToDo window it shows the current occurrence with the changes that were received.

Have uninstalled and reinstalled office, ran switch /cleanviews, archived previous years calendar items. Created new windows profile.

    Hi @Nadine C ,

I did the same tests in my environment(Outlook 2016 and Outlook 365) and just got the same results as you. Seems in Outlook desktop client, Outlook Today will only open recurring meeting in the form of "The entire series" by default which might be an expected behavior though there is no document explaining this. I tried some search but have found any methods which could be able to change that.

As a workaround, I would more suggested you to enable the Calendar To-Do Bar feature via View > LayOut > To-Do Bar > Calendar like below, in which you could open today's calendar items normally.

    Hope this can be helpful.

Yeah that is all I found as a work around. Now just need Microsoft to look at it.
