Dear Yew Seng Tai
Thank you for posting in the Microsoft community.
In Microsoft Edge, the “Suggest using Chrome” pop-ups displayed by Google are a form of web content, not a native feature of the browser.
As such, blocking such pop-up suggestions requires specific actions, such as limiting the notifications provided by Google or further controlling web behavior through extensions.
Here are some ways to help minimize or avoid seeing this suggestion altogether:
Method 1: Block Google pop-up notifications by disabling pop-ups
In Microsoft Edge, these alerts can be blocked by disabling popup permissions for Google pages:
Click the three-dot menu in the upper right corner (...) , then select Settings.
Select “Privacy, Search, and Services” on the left-hand side.
Scroll down to find “Website Permissions” and click on “Manage Permissions”.
Under “Set Permissions” look for Google.com (or Gmail.com, etc.). o Click on the domain and find “Popup Permissions.
Click on the domain and find “Pop-ups” and “Notification Alerts”.
Set “Pop-ups” and “Notifications” to “Block”.
By doing this, you can prevent Google pages from displaying “Chrome recommended” alerts via pop-ups or notifications.
Method 2: Disable browser recommendation notifications in Edge
Microsoft Edge provides default behavior settings for website permissions, and you can also turn off certain permissions uniformly for all websites:
Open Edge and go to the address bar and type: edge://settings/content.
Scroll to the “Notifications” section and select “Don't allow any websites to send notifications”.
In the “Popups and Redirects” settings, make sure it is “Blocked”.
If not, enable Block pop-ups.
(This setting filters many ad settings, but may cause incomplete loading for some sites.)
Method 3: Speed Optimization Approach - Change Default Search Engine
If these prompts originate from the Google search engine, there is an option to change Edge's default search engine.
Steps:
In the address bar, type: edge://settings/search
Click “Manage Search Engines”.
Set Bing or your preferred search engine as the default search engine.
Search directly through Bing to avoid jumping to Google page.
Method 4:Clean up tracking and reduce related alerts
Google's “Suggested Chrome” is often triggered by tracking the user's device, disabling tracking will reduce the number of alerts.
Open Edge Settings and go to “Privacy, Search, and Services.
Select “Block Tracking” and set it to “Strict”.
Still on the “Privacy, Search, and Services” page, click “Clear Browsing Data.
Select Cookies and website data and clear Google-related cookies.
Go to Edge's “Cookies and Site Permissions” settings page: edge://settings/siteData
Find Google-related content (e.g., google.com) and delete the associated cookies.

I hope the above information helps and look forward to hearing from you further.
