Hi!

I use the Twitter/X app that you can download from MS Store. If I launch the app and tries to view the app settings (see image), Edge is launched. Then I get this error:

app-settings is blocked

This page has been blocked by Microsoft Edge ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT

What shall I do?

Microsoft Edge | Other | Windows 11

    Hi, EvilBub

    Thanks for your reply.

The app you are using is likely a PWA (Progressive Web App) created based on Edge-related technology (because its settings point to an Edge:// internal address rather than a separate address, similar to the settings address of PWAs created by Edge). Therefore, if you care about the related settings options, you can visit X in Edge and create it as a PWA using Edge's built-in functionality. If you don't mind the related settings, you can continue using the app. Additionally, it is recommended that you use the feedback feature to report the incorrect settings direction of the app to the developers of X

Let's see if I understand you correctly.

You say dump the app, use Edge to view X/Twitter.

    Wrong?

    Hi, EvilBub

    Thanks for your reply.

From the naming, this URL appears to be an internal Edge address. If the internal address is inaccessible, it likely means the address has been deprecated, possibly because the app hasn’t been updated for a long time.

For instance, Twitter has been renamed to X, but the app might still be using its old name. Since this app is essentially a PWA (Progressive Web App) for Edge, you can access the current X website, follow the steps to install it as an app, and then uninstall the outdated version from the Store. This way, you’ll be able to access the settings for supported apps within Edge.

    Best regards

    Hi, EvilBub

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

We can reproduce your issue. Essentially, this application is an Edge PWA app, and after the update, the PWA settings are now configured at this specific address.

    edge://apps/

The problem appears to be due to the fact that the Edge address pointed to by these settings hasn't been synchronized for a long time.

You can simply visit X in Edge, then press Alt+F and select Apps to install the page as an app. Once installed, you'll find that the app can correctly access the APP settings address.

    Best regards
