It seems ever since my laptop updated to Windows 11, I get this error for trying to access Costco or Lego.

You don't have permission to access "http://www.costco.com/" on this server.

It is driving me crazy and tempted to get a new laptop since it is over 4 years old.

Guys - your public IP is being blacklisted because of some unusual activity from your network (could be malware/virus on a device, and/or a device running a server).

    You can validate this by:

    1. Get your public IP:
    1. Input your IP address from above on these sites:

    You have 2 solutions:

    1. Work with your ISP to get you a new public IP address for your router (your router might have a way to get a new IP through an admin interface) - or get a new router (which would force a new public IP address because of the different MAC address facing the ISP).
    2. Use a VPN Client (from every machine on your network, or using your Router if it has VPN Client support) - this will most likely take a hit on speed - but I think if you do this for a while, it may eventually "clear" your public IP address from the blacklist.

In either case, you'll most likely also have to figure out what device/activity caused your network to get blacklisted.

Ugh this is happening to me on Costco, lowes, home depot and many other websites. I have even gone as far as to replace my router and modem. It has to be something to do with the internet service provider or all these websites at once are getting some kind of glitch because I can access it from my phone but not my home computer. So, that leads me to believe its the ISP. I have spectrum what does everyone else have.

    Hello, Tracy Rye.

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

As the website suggests, you do not have permission.

This website is not a Microsoft website, and it is very likely an issue with the website itself.

Can your friend access it normally?

If your friend can access it, please try connecting to the internet through your friend's network.

I suggest contacting the website developer to report the issue.

This information indicates that you have connected to the website, but the request has been rejected due to the website developer's settings, and a message has been returned to you.

If there are any updates, please feel free to reply.

    Best regards.

FYI I started noticing this a day or two ago.

It's not the website (Same on delta.com, homedepot.com, costco.com, lowes.com), browser (Same on Chrome or Firefox) or computer (Same on PC or Phone). It's the network.

If my phone is on the same home network as my PC, then I get these errors. Take it off of wifi and use the cellular network, and it works.

I've changed the DNS setting on my router to something different (Cloudflare vs Google) and I get the same results, even after rebooting.

Currently I have no idea what's going on - and have not figured this out. This only started very recently (April 2024).

This is happening on multiple web sites, and is happening to me as well. I don't know that this is an individual website issue.
