Launching Microsoft Edge on Windows 11
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
I have just built a new computer and installed MS Windows 11 Pro (I ran MS Windows 10 Pro on my previous PC).
I've found that all of the major browsers (Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome + MS Edge) are incredibly slow to both open new windows and to swap between windows. Creating and swapping between new tabs is fine.
For troubleshooting purposes I created a new MS user profile, and found that all of the browsers load at full speed.
In the case of Mozilla Firefox (my preferred browser), I have logged into the same profile on both user accounts, have the same lone extension on both user accounts, and have reset all of my modified about:config settings. Yet I am still running into the same problem.
In my mind, those steps rule out a bloated profile, any extension issues, and any rogue modified settings.
Where do I go from here?

UPDATE
Prior to posting this question I had tried uninstalling and reinstalling Mozilla Firefox + Google Chrome, and it didn't make any difference.
I have just gone through the process of uninstalling Mozilla Firefox + Google Chrome again, but this time with Wise Program Uninstaller to delete all of the leftover registry entries related to them.
After taking the extra step of restarting my computer and then running Wise Care 365 to clean up any last remnants, I reinstalled both browsers from scratch, synced my profiles so I kept all of my bookmarks / passwords etc. and now everything is working as it should.
Should you find yourself in the same situation as me, give those extra steps a shot (I'm sure any 3rd party program uninstaller would do the trick - I just happened to already have the Wise products on my computer) and see how you go!!
You're welcome, and thank you for your exploration. We will record the solution you found. If other users encounter similar problems, your method will help them. Thank you again for your community feedback and for helping us build a better community.

Hi SnickoPen.
Welcome to the Microsoft Community.
I'm glad to hear that you have found a solution to the problem. If something similar happens again, you can also consider trying the following way to migrate the account to solve the problem:
- Press "win + R" at the same time to open "Run", enter "netplwiz" and click "OK", you will open the account interface
- Select "add..." on this interface, enter the email address of your Microsoft account, and click "next" (the same Microsoft account can create multiple Windows accounts)
- If the interface for entering the user name and password does not appear, you need to select "Microsoft Account"; if the interface for entering the user name and password appears, jump directly to the fourth step
- Enter the user name, password, confirm the password and other content, and you can create a Windows Microsoft user.
- Next, give this account administrator privileges. Return to the interface opened in the first step and double-click the account you just created.
- Select the "Group Members" tab at the top of the new pop-up window, then select "Administrators", and don't forget to click "OK" to save.
Log in to Windows with a new account. If the problem is solved, you can follow the "Copy files to a new user profile" method in the link below to migrate to the new account. Your information will be transferred to the new account. You can also use another account instead of the original account.

Wow. Thanks for that. I could have used this procedure a few times over in my past, but I had no idea you could do it!
Thanks!!
