Thanks for the suggestion, Chien, but I will politely decline.

I am not wasting any more time on this. I will be investigating alternatives to all Microsoft products because my experience with Microsoft products on this new laptop has been extremely irritating. I don't want Copilot. I don't want popups every two minutes. I don't want to spend hours turning off all the intrusive irritations. What I want is products that work., and effective support. I do not want to be fobbed off with some generic page of "things to try", none of which addresses what is clearly a known issue.

Thanks for updating me, and I'm sorry the issue is not resolved.

Resetting or repairing Microsoft Edge usually fixes memory consumption and crashing issues. However, please try these additional steps to troubleshoot the problem:

Open Microsoft Edge > Click the three dots on the top right corner > Settings > System & Performance > Turn off "Use Hardware Acceleration".

Also, ensure your Microsoft Edge version is the latest one.

Open Microsoft Edge > Click the three dots on the top right corner > Help and Feedback > About Microsoft Edge.

You can also open Microsoft Edge > Type edge://extensions/ in the address bar and disable or remove any extensions you don't use.

After those steps, check to see if the issue is resolved.

If not, open Task Manager and screenshot the Process tab.

This generic web page does not comprise a satisfactory solution:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/what-to-do-if-microsoft-edge-isn-t-working-cc0657a6-acd2-cbbd-1528-c0335c71312a

Let me reiterate: I have a brand new laptop. It is fresh out of the box. And yet Microsoft Edge continually consumes memory and hangs. Please escalate this issue. It appears to be a serious matter.
