How to Restore Ctrl+Shift+S Screenshot Functionality Outside Microsoft Edge

Have you ever found the screenshot tool in Microsoft Edge to be a lifesaver? I know I have! Unfortunately, I recently encountered a frustrating issue where the shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+S) stopped working outside of Edge.

I used to love the convenience of being able to quickly capture screenshots across different applications, but now it's limited to Edge only. Is there a way to restore this functionality? I'd much prefer using Edge's screenshot tool over the Snipping Tool. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Tommy,

For some reason I lost the functionality to take screenshot outside edge. I tried looking for the setting as you described, but it is no longer available. Another weird thing is that when you initiate screenshot on edge, only two options available - Capture Area and Capture full page. It is no longer the same simple snipping tool where you capture the area you want and there are options to add arrows, shapes, blur and all.

    :(

    Best regards,

    Jomar

    Hi, Althea Mariquit

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

Please visit this webpage, set the relevant screenshot shortcut keys, and make them effective globally.

(Please ensure Edge is running when using this feature, and you can change the shortcuts to your liking.)
