I reject Office 365 everytime but there it is from last update. I paid for computer, program all together. Why do you force newer unwanted stuff? It was on last update that duck duck go stopped launching and I've tried offered remedies. Nothing has allowed me to use it.

    Hi Steve,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I'm Hahn and I'm here to help you with your concern.

If DuckDuckGo is not launching when you click on the Edge button after installing Microsoft Office 365 and the latest Windows 10 update, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Check Default Search Engine Settings: Make sure that DuckDuckGo is set as your default search engine in the Edge browser. Here's how you can do it:
      • Open the Edge browser.
      • Click on the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner.
      • Go to "Settings" and select "Privacy, search, and services" from the sidebar.
      • Under the "Services" section, click on "Address bar."
      • Ensure that "DuckDuckGo" is selected as your search engine.
    2. Clear Browser Cache and Cookies: Clearing the cache and cookies in the Edge browser can help resolve any temporary issues. To do this:
      • Open the Edge browser.
      • Click on the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner.
      • Go to "Settings" and select "Privacy, search, and services" from the sidebar.
      • Under the "Clear browsing data" section, click on "Choose what to clear."
      • Select "Cached images and files" and "Cookies and other site data."
      • Click on the "Clear" button.

Disclaimer: Your browser automatically saves temporary internet files to help pages load faster. Clearing this cache will sometimes fix website issues. Please back up all your personal files first, such as Favorites, to ensure you do not lose data.

    1. Reset Edge Settings: Resetting the Edge browser settings can sometimes fix issues related to search engines. Please note that this action will remove your browsing history, cookies, and site data. To reset Edge settings :
      • Open the Edge browser.
      • Click on the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner.
      • Go to "Settings" and select "Reset settings" from the sidebar.
      • Click on the "Restore settings to their default values" option.
      • Restart the Edge browser and check if DuckDuckGo launches properly.
    2. Reinstall DuckDuckGo Extension: If you have the DuckDuckGo extension installed, try reinstalling it to ensure it is properly integrated with Edge. To reinstall the extension:
      • Open the Edge browser.
      • Click on the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner.
      • Go to "Extensions" and locate the DuckDuckGo extension.
      • Click on the "Remove" or "Uninstall" option to remove the extension.
      • Restart the Edge browser.
      • Visit the Microsoft Store and search for the DuckDuckGo extension.
      • Install the extension again and check if it launches correctly.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you might consider reaching out to DuckDuckGo support team for further assistance. DuckDuckGo (reddit.com)
