Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
Unless I hit the end process, this silly garbage browser runs at background all the time. Plus, no any application close itself completely when I click X, this specific issue is there since day one of Windows 10 release. Don't want to use Edge, never intended and never wanted to do so. There is better browsers out there, so I ask here how do I close Edge completely since X does nothing just to close it visually but it runs at background and consumes tons of physical memory for no reason. It launches itself time to time. Please help me out and thank you.

I have found an even more elegant solution and haven’t had any issues for months. Quit MS Windows completely and buy a Mac Airbook.
I have found a solution. Do not close Edge using the "X" close button. Instead, close Edge by going through the menu and selecting "Close Microsoft Edge". This completely closes it and removes all background processes.

Excellent!
At last, a working answer to this problem.
Not only does this work, but unless I'm on a lucky streak or I'm blind, it seems to permanently cure the problem after one use.
I performed the "Close Microsoft Edge" via the menu as suggested and sure enough the background processes also stopped.
To check it was consistent I reloaded Edge and first tried closing with the "X" button. To my surprise, the background processes also stopped.
I've tried it a few times and so far it seems to be fine.
Will report back after longer term testing.
Many thanks
