Managing tabs, address bar, and search settings in Edge on Windows 10
This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
I must use Edge for work, but I've always used Google as the default search engine.
Until yesterday, doing a search in the address bar used Google. Now, with no change on my side, a search momentarily goes to Google, but then redirects to Bing (I can see the address redirecting in the address bar).
I have Google set as the default search.
I have removed Bing from the search engine list in Edge settings.
I have even disabled "Allow Microsoft Search with Bing for any default search engine" (which worked for a few hours).
All of the above is still in place, yet the problem persists. Anyone have suggestions?

Hello Robert Drouhard (robert.drouhard).
Welcome to Microsoft Community.
Regarding to your information I assume that you have some issues on Edge.
It appears to be an unusual issue, as we are unable to reproduce it on our testing machine. Could you confirm if this issue also occurs
on the Google search website? If it doesn't happen on Google search, then we can narrow down the problem to your specific instance of Edge.
If the issue doesn't occur on the Google search website, you can try accessing it in the InPrivate mode(Ctrl+Shift+N) to see if the problem persists.
Make sure no extensions are running in the InPrivate mode.
If the problem still occurs in the InPrivate mode, you may need to reset your Edge browser and see if that resolves the issue.

If the problem persists even after resetting Edge, we suggest providing feedback by pressing Alt+Shift+I, and also trying the Canary
version of Edge to see if the issue is specific to a particular version.

Hello Robert Drouhard (robert.drouhard).
Thanks for your reply.
If this makes it clear that a specific extension is causing the problem, you can try installing the extension in the
Canary version of Edge to see if it is a compatibility issue with a specific version of Edge.
If this is the cause, we suggest that you contact the developer of the extension to provide feedback on the issue and submit the issue via Alt + Shift + I.
If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Hi Tommy, thanks for the response. I discovered it was the "Momentum" extension. No idea why, but Momentum is now using the "sysredirector.com" hijacker. disabling it fixed the problem. I could circumvent the issue by blocking the "bing.com" URL, but the experience wasn't great. Disappointing as I really like the extension.
