Favorites (bookmarks) not showing on favorites bar

Just to be clear, I already have the favorites bar open, it is set to always show. Nevertheless, none of my favorites are displayed on the favorites bar. The favorite bar says "Add favorites to this workspace by placing them here", it simply ignores the fact that my current workspace already has a ton of favorites.

Here is a screenshot of what it looks like. Notice that if I click on the workspace button (which is called "Home" in my case), all my favorites are correctly listed. They just don't show up on the favorites bar.

This issue appears right after the latest Windows update. Before the update, everything works fine, it's likely that the latest Microsoft Edge has a bug on this.

They have deleted the sole reason I switched to Edge. They have removed the main thing that made Workspaces a key differentiator from other browsers. It is very obvious why Microsoft lost the browser and mobile phone market....and thank goodness they did. Bye Edge; never again.

Microsoft, this is not acceptable. I had all my favorites structured on the Favorites Bar, and then you wipe it clean. Links that were kept for important reasons like paying bills, getting emergency help, accessing my accounts, unique finds to save for the future when I need it, etc. All gone.

It is not a bug, it is a new "feature" they introduced recently. I am also very upset about it. Workspaces were perfect and now they ruined them. There is another thread of users who want to be it like it is now, so maybe they cater to them now. I wish they would introduce an option at least... They changed the one thing that made Edge workspaces great.

Hi! If you switch to Edge Canary you can now reactivate the old behavior. After installing it, you type this into the URL bar:

    edge://flags/

Then in the search bar that appears on the site you type in: fav

It should show a shorter list of things you can change. One of the entries is "Show Workspace Favourites in Favourte Bar". Change this to "Enabled" and then restart the browser. It should then be back to how it used to be.

    Cheers!
