I have Windows 10 Pro running my computer and would like to completely get rid of Edge. I don't use it and don't plan on ever using it so it's basically just a nuisance to me. Any help would be appreciated.

As far as I know, it isn't possible to get rid of Edge completely. However, you can install some other web browser and set it as the system default.

Hi Wild, Welcome to the Microsoft Community. I am a Microsoft user just like you, and I hope you are well.

Microsoft Edge is the web browser recommended by Microsoft and is the default web browser for Windows. Because Windows supports applications that rely on the web platform, our default web browser is an essential component of our operating system and can’t be uninstalled. To provide our users with compatibility, compliance, accessibility, and performance, we'll continue updating Microsoft Edge through the browser installer or Windows updates.

Should be interesting to see if this gets deleted.
you can compleatly remove Edge from windows, it's to compicated and "this is by design." there is no reason other then the legal requierment to make it this way, they are not alowed to install their own seperat browser app in there OS, so they pretend that the browser is an intricat part of the OS, Chrome is more a Web Browser then an OS ot begine whit and MacOS is doing the same as windows.
The problem is that Edge is NOT actuly an "critical components" of the windows os as much as they pretned it is, it can be removed deleted and windows will run just fine if you do it correctly, windows will reinstall it the moment it detects what you did and usualy it's not worth the hassle.
but Edge cause problem whit other browsers and several apps break becase of how Edge will place itself in the way.
I wish Edge would be optional.
Thanks. Maybe if I can just block it so it doesn't show up every time I click on a link!
It's totally **** that it runs in the background and you can't disable it. I'm on the last remaining windows PC in my life and I hate that I have to use such a bloated piece of ****. It's easy to accept the fact that Mac does not allow you to disable most things in their OS because it's never fails 99.9% of the time. Windows is desperately trying to shut down a users ability to disable software that they don't want except Windows is always crashing.
How is it that my Macbook Pro with and M3Pro chip and 20 gigs of RAM completely out performs my studio PC that has 128GBs of RAM and a i9 processor? It shouldn't but add a ridiculous amount of RAM leaking unwanted software and that's what happens.
Just ****...pure ****.
