A similar thing is happening to me. One week ago, Dolby Vision and 4K playback suddenly stopped working on my laptop in Microsoft Edge/Netflix app. I've tried everything (reinstalling netflix, edge, dolby access, extentions, gpu drivers) but nothing seems to fix it. I'm stuck at 1080p at max. I've contacted netflix support but ofc they weren't useful.

Going to edge://gpu/ on Microsoft Edge (Version 131.0.2903.112 (Official build) (64-bit), I've stumbled on a bit of information that confirms that 4K and Dolby Vision is not supported which is crazy because it worked smoothly until a few days ago and DV still works outside netflix/edge with local files like it always had.

There's no standalone Netflix app anymore. The new one is the Edge browser wrapped on an app. So if someone is experiencing issues with Edge (or Netflix in Edge for the matter), they're out of luck and it's something that should be addressed.

    Hi, William Ashcroft

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

The quality of streaming is related to the network environment. From my personal experience, sometimes even when using plugins to force lock the quality and it can play smoothly, the quality still drops significantly after turning off the plugins. Therefore, it might be a network environment issue. It could also be related to browser compatibility. Some users have reported that after recent updates, some features of Netflix do not work properly on Edge. You can try switching to another browser or using the Netflix app from the Microsoft Store to see if the issue persists. If the issue only occurs in Edge, I suggest you report the problem using Alt+Shift+I and temporarily use Netflix in a way that works without issues. If other browsers and the app also have problems, it is likely a network environment issue, and I recommend contacting Netflix for assistance.

    Best regards
