Why is Netflix App not running as independent application?

The picture quality was always better in app than in browser, now it's back to basic 720p or worse.
No more support for surround sound either (edge only supports stereo sound).
Netflix is gone gone gone, they don't develop the very basic thing (their own application) they depend on anymore at all or whatsoever.

Everyone go back to buying DVDs and blue-rays, Netflix streaming is dead.

It appears Netflix has updated its app on the Microsoft Store and it's no longer a Windows application but a PWA (Progressive Web App). I have the old version installed, but when I updated it just now, it became a PWA.

Uninstall it and try to install the old version using this link and see if it helps

To prevent reverting to a PWA version, turn off automatic app updates in the Microsoft Store settings.

Yeah, none of the content is available in 4K for me anymore. That's the only reason I'm paying for the highest tier subscription. This is bull.

I just noticed that my whole windows is running super slooooooooooowly with netflix running. And I noticed 18 edge process active and 4 netflix active... this is terrible.

If I kill Edge, then netflix goes donw too :(

This is terrible again.
