I am running Windows 11 24H2. When ever I start my PC CoPilot in Edge window appears on on Screen. Drives me mad. I don't use Edge as my main browser but have it installed. I asked CoPilot how to stop it running at start up and thought I had followed the Edge settings in //edge whatever. I have now gone into the registry and is USER Software -> Microsoft -> Windows -> Current Version -> Run REMOVED reference to Edge/Copilot (and a few others things I don't want at start up - I no we shouldn' hack the registry - but frankly that works - I am careful - HONEST). But still on start up I get CoPilot window !!! I like CoPilot and I use it very useful. I have it in my Task Bar. So I can use it when I want it. So can any knowledgable person on the Forum help me to stop this total irriataion. I do try to stop all this stuff that Windows wants to do for me. Thanks in anticipatioon

    Hi, grahamm7

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

Based on your description, you are referring to Edge automatically opening and jumping to the Copilot page when you start Windows. Please try to go to this address in Edge to disable the quick start feature and temporarily disable all Extensions.

    edge://settings/system

Then you can use the Autoruns tool to check the startup items and remove the related ones to see if it works.

I went into EDGE system Settings and turned off the Edge apps running in background. And lots of other stuff. Why does Microsoft try to take over make me do things there way with out helping me to have a clear choice of what I want to do. And now COPILOT is taking over my machine. When I use OWA my use ICON is no longer in the top RH coner. I have a banner about Copilot at the top of the screen. And there is an icon to use Copilot. I don't want Copilot as an add on or app within Edge. Now Copilot is taking over my use of MS WORD and integrating with editor and offeing to write for me. Really!! I will post that one as another Question. I am not a happy Microsoft User with all this adding and modifying and messing around with layouts and functionailty in this way. Sorry it is driving me towards using UNIX aka Linnux.
