    Dear DOUGLAS,

Hello! Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

It looks like you want to know how to use a VPN with Edge. If you are referring to the built-in web protection feature that comes with Microsoft Edge, please refer to the following steps:

    • Tap the three-dot menu icon in the upper-right corner.
    • Select "Settings".
    • In the settings menu, tap "Privacy, search, and services" on the left.
    • Under the "Security" section, find the "Microsoft Edge Secure Network" option.
    • Turn on the "Microsoft Edge Secure Network" switch to enable the VPN feature.

Description: Safe Web is a built-in VPN that helps protect your network connection from online hackers, guards against online trackers, and keeps your location private. When you sign in to Edge with a Microsoft account, you'll get 5GB of free Safe Web data per month.

If you mean web proxy software. Please look for them in the store or on the web. This is beyond the scope of what the community can support. Regarding usage, just open the web proxy software and then open Edge.

Keep me posted on your progress. Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Best Wishes

I am also having issues turning my VPN on the heart icon doesn't work (probably due to the fact that I can not enable it in settings)

    EDGE 'Settings'

Privacy, search, and services scroll down 'Microsoft Edge Secure Network'

    Unable to toggle this on

There is a little folder icon that says 'This setting is turned off for managed Browsers)

I am logged on to my Microsoft account

You should probably check if you are using Microsoft Edge or Microsoft Edge for Business (meaning you are logged in with your work account). This could be the main difference when MS Edge Secure Network option is not available at all.

I am on microsoft edge 133 and sincerely, one of the coolest features i enjoyed and used was the built in VPN since it helped to open websites hosted on github pages (.github.io sites) which for some reasons doesn't open in my country unless i use a vpn.

Since i updated to edge 133, i can't find the vpn any more in browser essentials
