Why did Edge STEAL ALL MY CHROME BOOKMARKS?

This is the SECOND time MS has done this. THIS TIME...I just booted up and Edge updated itself AND it had ALL MY BOOKMARKS imported from Chrome! I did not click on anything that said "Import" or accepted a change. I ALWAYS read very carefully when MS give me questions or decisions to make because they like to word things in such a way that they acquire more and more information from you. I am SICK of this. Absolutely sick of this.

If you've already imported your bookmarks and want to remove them, you can do so by following these steps:

    1. Open Microsoft Edge.
    2. Click on the three dots in the upper-right corner of the window.
    3. Select "Settings" from the drop-down menu.
    4. Scroll down to the "Profiles" section.
    5. Click on "Manage profile settings."
    6. Click on "Import bookmarks and settings."
    7. Select "None" from the drop-down menu next to "Import from."
    8. Click on "Delete data" to remove the imported bookmarks.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY WRONG! How are you a moderator and not know what the actual menu steps are? Your role should be removed and given to someone that actually knows the steps for the current software steps. This is why I hate getting help from "Moderators." You guys are just incompetent didacts.

There is no "Manage Profile Settings," nor is there an "Import bookmarks and settings"

What I found is that EDGE turns ON IMPORT browser data upon launch. That was NEVER ALLOWED by me but Microsoft does it anyway against my wishes. Here are the CORRECT steps to REMOVING the collected data that Microsft STEALS from your other browser:

Click on the three dots and go to settings>Profiles (left)>Import browsing data at each browser launch (right)...now, turn OFF Importbrowser data from Google Chrome on each launch. HOW THE HECK IS THIS ON!!!! Stealing our data....

When you turn it off...you will get a dialog stating that it will stop stealing your browser data and delete it from Edge. TURN THAT OFF.

    Done.

The real question is what else did they do to your computer? After they altered your browser, what else did they move around? Did they copy anything? I asked them if they copied any of the contents of my computer and they refused to confirm or deny it. They can't be trusted.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with Microsoft Edge. It's possible that Edge automatically imported your Chrome bookmarks during the update process. This is a common feature of web browsers, and it's designed to make it easier for users to switch between browsers. However, if you don't want Edge to import your bookmarks, you can disable this feature by following these steps:

    1. Open Microsoft Edge.
    2. Click on the three dots in the upper-right corner of the window.
    3. Select "Settings" from the drop-down menu.
    4. Scroll down to the "Import or Export" section.
    5. Click on "Import from another browser."
    6. Toggle the switch next to "Import bookmarks and settings" to the off position.
