This was supposed to be fixed with the next release of Edge back in 2021. Well, it is BACK! What does that mean? Someone incorporated code that refers to this. Please fix it now!!!! Not with the next release.

By the way, if this was properly tested, it would not be happening. If you would tell us exactly what to disable in our extensions, that would work as well.

Sincerely!

Cindy French

I am also having this issue and it's being detected by Norton. It's becoming very annoying.

Hello, peterpanforever, welcome to the Microsoft Community.

Thank you for your feedback. extensionwebstorebase.edgesv.net is a URL that has been removed, so you don't need to have any security concerns.

Could you please let me know which software generated the prompt? You can also use this information to open the feedback interface in the Edge browser by pressing Alt+Shift+I, and submit the issue you encountered to the developers. The more feedback we receive, the more likely it is to attract the developers' attention, which helps us investigate the cause of the issue and improve the user experience.

Additionally, you can report this issue to the support staff of the software that generated the prompt, as it can be considered a false positive.

I hope the above information can help you.
