    Hi, aashish regmi

    Thanks for your reply.

If Edge Webview automatically opens, it’s normal. Many Windows applications need to run based on this environment. For example, Windows Widgets and others will call the Edge Webview process, so it will automatically open due to the design of Windows itself. For instance, in the picture, you can see that the Outlook application is calling the Webview process.

As for how to uninstall Edge and Webview, Microsoft has not provided any official uninstallation solutions. If you must uninstall, please use some third-party software to uninstall these system components (it is not recommended to uninstall Webview2 as it will cause many applications to not run).

    Hi, aashish regmi

    Thanks for your reply.

Under normal circumstances, if you are running some high-load applications in the foreground, Windows will lower the priority of these memory consumptions and throw them into the virtual memory set by Windows. Therefore, you can try to increase the virtual memory to reduce the impact of these occupancies.

    • Click the “Start” button, then select “Settings” from the menu.
    • In the Settings window, click “System”, then click “About”.
    • Scroll down and click “Advanced System Settings”.
    • In the “System Properties” window, go to the “Advanced” tab, then click “Settings” in the “Performance” area.
    • In the “Performance Options” window, go to the “Advanced” tab, then click “Change” in the “Virtual Memory” area.
    • In the “Virtual Memory” window, uncheck the “Automatically manage paging file size for all drives” box.
    • Select the drive you want to increase virtual memory for, then click “Custom Size”.

At the same time, it is recommended that you feedback this issue through Win+F and wait for the developers to optimize the related processes.

    Best regards

I think You didn't understand What I say. Microsoft edge view 2 is auto opening without any reason. Like it should be closed when i am not using Microsoft edge but is auto opening and consuming so much ram. Is there any way to permanently delete Microsoft edge and it's other component like web view 2 or How to fix from stop lunching. Remember startup apps in off and it does not open in start. later it auto open.

    Hi, aashish regmi

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

If it’s msedge.exe, you can try turning off these two options and then close Edge from the Task Manager to see.

    edge://settings/system

Regarding the WebView process, this process itself will be called by many software that use this process, and Windows itself will call this process. For the specific functionality of Webview2, you can refer to this article, which provides detailed information.
