Computer does not detect the printer

When we plug our printer into the USB port it is not detected. We shouldn't have to "add a printer" because Windows should detect it through the USB port. I have copied the info from the "Problems Reports and Solutions" box.

Generally, problem with device not working properly are usually caused by bad or missing drivers. I would suggest you visit the manufacturer’s website to get the latest driver for your printer. Make sure you download the driver that will work with the version of Operating System you are running. Yes, Windows should detect your printer but if the driver is missing or corrupted, your printer will not work.

Also for a quick troubleshooting, you may also want to change the USB cable and possibly connect to another USB port on your PC and see if that will help to resolve the issue.
