what is iSCSI Initator and do i need to turn on

    Hello azapata59,

    I would just leave it off unless you connect an iSCSI device to the computer or network NAS, in which case you can enable it at that time. The iSCSI Initiator service allows Vista to connect to SCSI devices attached to a network.     Don't confuse iSCSI with NAS. NAS is quite different. iSCSI connects SCSI via a network while NAS connects a share to a network. iSCSI itself will not take into account other users sharing the same device while NAS will.

    OK thanks for that answer but still, i am in the dark. do i need to turn this device on or leave it alone  you see i went to control panel and in program panel when i click on SCSI icon it told me if i wanted to turn on, so do i or leave it  i still do not fully understand what it used for   thank again compute dummy
