Hi Goran Culibrk,

Welcome to Microsoft Windows.

I will suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

  1. Reset the folder options view

Organize > Folder & search Options > General > Browse Folders > Select “Open each folder in same windows”

  1. Organize > Folder & search Options > View > uncheck Launch folder windows in a new process.
  2. Open Registry editor by typing “regedit” in Run dialog box and hit enter.Navigate to the key “HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell”.  On the right hand side pane there is a value named “Default” double-click on this value & Set the value to “none“.  Once you make this change, your folders should instantly be back to normal. You must start explorer (Restart/Logoff) for changes to take effect.
  3. Get your AntiVirus updated and thoroughly scan your computer as Virus may create an Autorun.inf file in each folder which may cause this problem as well.

Important :  This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following link to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Hope this information is helpful.

1: make sure you have latest update installed  to your antivirus

2: do a full system scan

3: go to start > all programs > accessories  and right click on "cmd" and select "Run as administrator"

    4: now type "sfc /scannow"

    *without double quotes

5: This worked fine for me and may be for you too.

    This worked for me:

-Unpin the Windows Explorer icon from the task bar and start menu.

-Do a right click and properties on the icon located in start --> accessories.

-Paste "C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe " over the top of the existing target (Essentially

restoring it to default) and it worked perfectly without having to reboot.

**ANSWERHi Goran, I also had the same problem but after moths I found the right way which I am 100% sure will work with you.**This could happen after installing certain versions of VaultClient software, and issue can be resolved by registering a DLL file. Use these steps:

Open an elevated Command Prompt window. To open an elevated Command Prompt, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. Type the following command and hit ENTER:

    Command for **Windows 7 32-bit :regsvr32.exe "%Programfiles%\Internet Explorer\ieproxy.dll"**Command for Windows 7 64-bit (Registering the 32-bit module) :regsvr32.exe "%Programfiles(x86)%\Internet Explorer\ieproxy.dll"

You should see a similar message as below, in the output window:DllRegisterServer in ieproxy.dll succeeded.

Your fix described here didn't work for me. Then “HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell" was already set to "none". I am still unable to change my folder options to "Open each folder in its own window" from"Open each folder in the same window".

If you have another fix, please email me at <*** Email address is removed for privacy ***>

    Thanks,
