    The answer is simple and easy. Just take the following actions:

    1. Download and unpack the Windows XP driver from HP's website (http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=12454&prodSeriesId=316517&prodNameId=97130&swEnvOID=1093&swLang=13&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=hd-17950-2).
    2. Locate Setup.exe. If you kept the default unpack options, it should be in C:\swsetup\SP27103
    3. Right-click on Setup.exe and select Properties
    4. Select the Compatibility Tab
    5. Check the box for "Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP"
    6. Check the box for "Run this program as administrator"
    7. Apply these changes and exit the properties dialog
    8. Run Setup
    9. Enjoy your integrated sound card as it was meant to be enjoyed.

    hey i was also suffering from the same problem as u guyz..

    i spend my whole night in searching for the compatable drivers for my compaq evo d510 sf but could'nt get any satisfactory solution of my problem.. but i did'nt loose hope as i wanted to work on windows 7 at any cost so i got a way as it said" when there is a will there is a way"....

    i tried several times installing the sound card driver which i got for my previos windows Xp version but after installing it i got a message " driver not supported for this Op/s".. then i went to the device manager option and from there i tried to update my drivers which did'nt worked thn i locate drivers in my pc and gave the folder where that driver was installed which was not working.. certainly from there it picke the driver which was for Xp and othere versions and it got installed on windows 7 .. the yellow mark on sound control also dissapeared and my problem got fixed... i also did the same thing for graphics driver as well..

    hope this short cut kind of trick can help the people who wanna use windows 7 on uncompatible machines...

    Regards;

    fugbog,

    http://www.nforcershq.com/forum/adi-soundmax-86-88-a-b-89-xonar-t71280.html

    this page appears to be centered around trying to get that particular audio chipset working under windows 7. I would think it would be at the very least a good place to start.
