When I try to connect to with a vpn connection to my workplace I receive error 789:The L2TP connection attempt failed because the security layer encountered a processing error during initial negotiations with the remote computer.

I use lp2/ipsec.  I have restarted the "IKE and AuthIP IPsec Keying Modules" service and tehe "Remote Access Connection Manager" service but it still doesn’t working.

I run windows 7, the same settings works fine on a vista computer (in the same network). Windows firewall is now off.

The same connection was working fine two weeks ago

The problem is solved. I did a restore on my computer, so some windows update was removed. After that it works fine, even after the same updates were installed again.
