I am trying to add my School email onto Outlook 2007. I have added it as my default and even went into the registry and and added the code, but I do not have, or cannot find mlcfg32.cpl on my system. What can be done about this? So how do I get mlcfg32.cpl so that I can add the Mail Icon and add the account?

    Hi Kristina Harris,

    Welcome to Microsoft Answers.

    ·         Is it a 32 bit or a 64 bit operating system?

    A)    If it’s a 64 bit operating system try this work around. This workaround lets you open an x86 Control Panel item when the program icon is not displayed in the View x86 Control Panel Icons item in Control Panel.

    i.                    Click Start, click Run, type the following in the Open box, and then click OK:

    Drive_Letter:\windows\syswow64\mlcfg32.cpl

Note The placeholder Drive_Letter represents the drive where the x64-based version of Windows is installed.

Check the KB article” Some Windows Explorer extensions and some Control Panel items are not displayed on computers that are running an x64-based version of Windows”  http://support.microsoft.com/kb/895561

    B)     Click start->Run ->type control mlcfg32.cpl and hit enter. Then check if you are able to see the mail icon.

Unfortunately... mlcfg32.cpl is NO-WHERE on my PC.    I am running Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1 and Microsoft Office 2010 Student Edition.  Any additional help is very much appreciated !!

    Hi Diana,

I didn't find the icon in that path.

    OS : Win 7 Professsional 64-Bit

    Outlook : 2007 32 bit

I went to the path :   C:\windows\syswow64\mlcfg32.cpl, but nothing is opening.

In the above mentioned path, there is no file name with "mlcfg32.cpl".

Please suggest on how fix this.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Ajay

    Try C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14 if you're using Office x64 or C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office14 if you're using Office x86.

Thank you! It seemed to work, but now I am having some problems on the schools end. The link you included, the second one, was what helped. Thanks again!
