The ability to install all versions of Vista is contained on the Vista DVD.

In other words, there are only 2 DVDs, 32bit and 64bit.

It is the Product Key which matches with the correct version to be activated.

If you have no luck with MS re a disk, borrow one, select your Operating System version, and use your Product Key during install.

    Hi Dragon King,

Thank you for taking the time to post.

Forgive me if I overlooked this but Rami had asked if this was happening in other profiles on the computer, have you had a chance to check?

If you do not have another profile, you can follow the below steps to create a “test” profile.

    ·         Click the Start Button, and then click Control Panel

    ·         Click Classic View in left panel.

    ·         Double-click User Accounts.

    ·         Click Manage another user account.

    ·         Click Create a new account, and type the name (whatever you want for a name)

    ·         Choose account type as Computer administrator.

    ·         Click Create Account.

    ·         Log off and log on with the new account.

Looking through the startup items, I see one that brings a little concern.

    BitTorrent DNA                         "C:\Users\joebren\Program Files\DNA\btdna .exe"

This is Peer2Peer software which maybe helping to slow your system and you will have a higher chance of having a virus/spyware infection so please make sure your anti-virus is up to date and a full scan has been done. It might also help to do a scan from an online virus scanner as well such as:

    http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm

Do you have the ability to uninstall the BitTorrent software for testing?

We can place your computer in a clean boot setting to where only what’s required to load at startup will load to help eliminate 3 party programs or services that maybe causing the issue.

Follow the steps below to place your computer in “clean boot”

    1.     Click the Start button on your Desktop

    2.     Type msconfig in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.

    3.     On the General tab, click Selective Startup.

    4.     Under Selective Startup, click to clear the Load Startup Items check box.

    5.     Click the Services tab, click to select the Hide All Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable All.

    6.     Click OK.

    7.     When you are prompted, click Restart.

How to set your computer to boot normal:

    1.       Click the Start button on your Desktop

    2.  In the Start Search box, type msconfig, and then press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.

    1. Click the General tab.
    2. Click Normal Startup - load all device drivers and services, and then click OK.
    3. When you are prompted, click Restart to restart the computer.

    Please let us know.

    Thanks,

    Keith

    Dragon King,

Svchost is a generic host process that allows other services and programs that use DLLs to run. Thus there are many dependencies that could be effecting this performance that only use svchost for their resources / access permissions.

First, what is your system specifications?

Have you recently noticed a spike in your computer resources or is this something that has been going on for a while?

Please provide a list of your startup programs with the following command:

    1. Click Start, and then type cmd in the Start Search box.
    2. Right-click cmd in the Programs list, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue
    3. At the command prompt, type the following line, and then press ENTER: wmic startup get caption, command
    4. Click the Icon at the top left of the Command Prompt window that is open, click Edit, click Select All. Press Enter to copy the selected text.
    5. Paste the information into your reply by pressing CTRL+V on your keyboard.

Also is this occurring in other profiles?
