I'm not able to fill-in any information on a PDF form.  My cursor will sit down (but never with the "pointed finger" cursor I've been told to see) where I want it to but it won't do a thing when I type!  Help me please!

    Hello SmellyEllileJellyBelly,

Thank you for posting to the Microsoft Answers Forum.

If you have a Non-interactive PDF forms, also called flat forms, can be printed and filled in by hand.

However, if you are viewing a form withe Adobe Reader, it is just that, a reader. It is a read only form. You would need to have

a full version of Adobe Acrobat which allows read and write to the PDF form.

There are free PDF products you can search on the internet to download.

Hope this helps with your issue.

    Sincerely,

    Marilyn

    Hello SmellyEllieJellyBelly,

    Welcome to Microsoft Answers!

Here are the steps on how to fill electronic forms in with Acrobat.

Start by selecting either the Hand tool or the Select tool. When you place the pointer over an interactive form field, the pointer icon changes to one of the following:

    1.    The Pointing Finger or Pointing Hand Plus tool appears when the pointer is over a button, radio button, check box, or item in a list.

    2.    The Select tool appears when you can select an item in a list.

    3.    The I-beam tool appears when you can type text into a form field.

Move from one form field to the next by pressing the Tab key. To delete an entry, press the Esc key. When you finish the form, click the Submit Form button. If the PDF author has enabled the local save capability on the form, you can also choose File > Save As to rename the file and save the form with your information without submitting it.

Tip: To fill in forms more efficiently, turn on Auto-Complete in the Forms Preferences (choose Forms on the Preferences dialog box).
