Microsoft Digital Media Pro keyboard Flock feature

I'm getting a Microsoft Digital Media Pro keyboard and it has the FLOCK "additional" feature.  I read that the Flock "functions" tend to be "automatically" on and we need to press the Flock key to have the standard function key enabled.   I have been on the Microsoft Usenet newsgroups for some years and I found a XP Registry patch which "swaps" the FLOCK / Standard Function keys options.  Would this also work in Windows 7 Ultimate?

The link provided does not tell me how to "swap" the F-Lock functions.  It just explains the feature.

    Hello

    Welcome to Microsoft answers

Xp registry doesn’t work in Windows 7 Ultimate.

    1. The F LOCK key switches between the standard commands that are labeled on the front of the keys such as F1 or INSERT and the alternate commands that are labeled above the keys such as CLOSE or BACKSPACE. When the F LOCK light is on, the F LOCK key is on and these keys perform their standard commands. When the F LOCK light is off, the alternate commands are enabled. You can choose the mode that you prefer to work in, or you can switch the F LOCK key on and off to access the commands that you use most frequently.
    2. Function Lock (F LOCK) Switches between the standard function key commands (F LOCK light on) and the Microsoft keyboard enhanced commands (F LOCK light off). Leave it on or off, or alternate between modes for increased key press functionality.
