agentfox2009, go ahead and restore your computer back to a previous state, or if you have a backup to your registry for before you changed the listed key, go ahead and apply it.

How to restore Windows XP to a previous state

Go ahead and apply Service Pack 3:

    update.microsoft.com

Make sure your Windows Media Player is working.

Which version of WMP are you using? click Help - About .

If you need to update it Download Player 11 for Windows XP .

Now having a Problem with Universal Plug and Play Device Host****The Universal Plug and Play Device Host service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the Perfomance Logs and Alerts service."

    Also Can't find Folder

To fix the UPnP service if it is starting and immediately stopping, go to "Documents and Settings\LocalService\Application Data\Microsoft\UPnP Device Host" and edit the permissions on that folder.

    Also Done this

    • Open Regedit
    • Navigate down to

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\UPnP Device Host

    • Right click on the UPnP Device Host Key, and click 'Permissions'
    • When I checked this on mine, Local Service (which was the account

used to log on to UPnP) had no entry

    • Click 'Add', then click 'Find Now', scroll down to the 'Local

Service' user and double click, then click OK

    • You should see local service listed now, click OK.
    • Then click on local service in the users list, and change permission

    to 'Full Control'.

and Windows Media is not working
