Vista Ultimate 64 bit to 32 bit

I've seen a similiar question but it's not quite identical, so forgive me if I'm redudant.

Have a HP Pavilion dv9700t CTO Entertainment Notebook PC from October 2008 that came pre-installed with Vista Ulitmate 64 bit.   I've downloaded SP1 and SP2.  Runs fine.

BUT....a program I want to run (Pro Tools from DigiDesign) runs on Vista Ultimate 32 bit SP1.

I'm willing to drop down to Vista Ultimate 32 bit SP1 on my Pavilion laptop, as my HP Desktop runs most of my main software).  The question is if I buy a new copy of Windows Vista Ultimate with SP1 Upgrade will it allow me to choose 32 bit?  No need in buying of course if I can only choose 64 bit.

If the answer is no what option would I have to allow my laptop to run Vista Ultimate 32 bit?

Thank you!

Michael

Vista 32bit and 64bit Operating Systems come on 2 different DVDs.

32bit to 64bit, and 64bit to 32bit OSs are not an Upgrade/Downgrade Option.

It has to be a clean install, as they are completely different Operating Systems.

As your 64bit came preinstalled, it is classified as OEM, and is not eligible for the Retail Alternative Media Microsoft offer of only shipping/handling costs.

You will have to buy a full version of the Vista Ultimate 32bit version, and do a clean install..

Windows Vista Ultimate with SP1 32-bit*

    Cheers.
