    Hello MactabardX,

I would try and remove Windows Media Player and then reinstall it.

Uninstalling and Reinstalling the Windows Media Player:

    Step 1.

    Uninstalling the Windows Media Player:

    1. Go to Start and in the search type "Turn Windows features On or Off".
    2. Click on "Turn Windows features On or Off".
    3. Browse to the Media Features and uncheck the mark in front of Windows Media Player.
    4. Restart the computer

    Step 2.

    Reinstalling the Windows Media Player:

    1. Go to Start and in the search type "Turn Windows features On or Off".
    2. Click on "Turn Windows features On or Off".
    3. Browse to the Media Features and place a check mark in front of Windows Media Player.
    4. Restart the Computer.

If you are having trouble using Windows Media Player, try using the troubleshooter to see if that fixes the problem.

Open the Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting. Click View all, and then click Windows Media Player Settings.

If the size of the .wmv files are too large, it may cause Windows Media Player to stop working.

I would try and remove the videos from the Windows Media Player library and test to see if the size of the files could be causing a problem.

Please reply back and let us know if these steps helps.

    Thanks,

    Marilyn

This did not work. It makes me angry that Microsoft is giving this unhelpful advice >:(

I started having this issue burning certain mp3 albums to disc.  My workaround for the affected albums, was to open the album and manually drag the songs over the the burn list (you may even have to drag the songs over one by one). It works every single time!

I hope this helps you if you're still having the issue.  All the best!

I had 2 mp3 files to burn. One of them failed with that error message. I converted it to wav file with Audacity and it burned fine. The other mp3 didn't have that problem. I believe it was a codec problem.

I have the same problem. I have tried all kinds of software third party and microsoft. Nothing will burn them. Does yours happen right before it actually starts to burn? Because that is when mine problem begins.
