Hi cliffflip,

Please see below information that might help with your issue.

Please verify you've installed the most recent drivers:

http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/intel915g/sb/CS-011363.htm

Also, please verify it's not a hardware problem:

Thanks for your help Debra, i have tried to install vga driver from 3 different sources (Windows Update, Toshiba's support site and Intel Download Center)

Intel has the newer driver version, i have installed this version a few days ago but the problem remain exists,

right now i'm using driver from Toshiba's support site.

i've found total 2833 Event ID 219 logged in Event Viewer from the past 3 months, multiple drivers failed to load my devices

but one thing that i noticed, everytime my monitor turns off or show improper resolution, there's a log says

"The driver \Driver\igfx failed to load for the device PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2A02&SUBSYS_FF101179&REV_03\3&33fd14ca&0&10."

that's my graphic card hardware ID

i'm confuse after read this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/974720, Microsoft says it's safe to ignore this message

how can i solve it ?

Hi Syed V and thanks for your reply.

is it normal to have 2 Intel display adapters entry in device manager? from normal boot device manager only show 1 Intel Display adapter, but from safe mode, device manager recognize 2 Intel Display adapter.

i think Windows failed to recognize my Intel Display adapter so i disable one of them, here's what i've done 2 days ago (after report this problem) :

boot into safe mode then open device manager, Windows shows that i have 2 entry on Display adapters section:

    • Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family (Location : PCI bus 0, devices 2, function 0)
    • Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family (Location : PCI bus 0, devices 2, function 1)

after that, my problems seems gone, try to restart and shut down then power up again multiple times, everything seems fine yesterday.

but yeah, that problems comes again this morning, so i boot into safe mode again and reinstall my Intel driver.

after that, try to boot normally & with low resolution (like you told), everything seems normal

there's something funny, this is seems like come-and-go everyday.

after make a changes like reinstall video drivers, performing clean boot, and recently disable one of my Intel display adapters in device manager,

this problem seems gone for like a day or two, but after that, this same old problem come again

sigh, i don't know if this problem come from the Intel video card itself,

    need another solution please ..

    Hi,

Let's check in low resolution mode to cross check if the display adapter driver is malfunctioning. To do this, follow these steps.

    1. Start the computer and tap F8 key continuously to get advanced boot options menu.
    2. From the list of options, select enable low resolution mode and hit enter.
    3. Check if the computer starts without any problem.

NOTE: If the computer starts without any problem, then it confirms that either the video card driver is corrupt or malfunctioning or something is wrong with the video card itself.

Try the steps and post back the results.

    Regards,

    Syed
