Intel PRO/100 M drivers for Windows 7 x64

Hello.

I have an Intel network adapter. I don't know the model, but this is the hardware ID:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1229&SUBSYS_00098086&REV_05

I looked at this site: http://www.pcidatabase.com/ and it told me that I have an Intel PRO/100 M network adapter.

The problem I have with it is that it does not work with Windows 7 x64, although the Windows 7 compatibility center says that it is compatible. (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Details.aspx?type=Hardware&p=Intel%20PRO%2f100%20M%20Desktop%20Ethernet%20Adapter&v=Intel&uid=PILA8460M&pf=0&pi=0&s=pro%2f100%20M&os=64-bit)

I had the same adapter with Windows XP 32 bit, and it was recognized without aditional drivers (winxp already had drivers for it).

Also, it worked with Windows Vista 32 bit. It didn't get recognized at first, but if I clicked "update driver" and then let it check Windows Update, it automatically found a driver there, downloaded it, installed it, and it worked.

But with Windows 7 64 bit, the adapter doesn't get recognized, and Win7 can't find drivers on Windows Update. So practically, an adapter that worked in WinXP and WinVista, does not work on Win7. And this is when the compatibility site says "Compatible No action required This product installs automatically without extra software".

I have searched Intel's website, but I can't find any Win7 drivers for this adapter.

Please direct me to some drivers for my adapter, or tell me how to make it work.

If you've given the correct model no. the look here and select the exact op sysytem you have:

(you may need to reenter pro/100 m into the search field again.

I have already tried Inte's download center.

I select Intel PRO/100 M desktop adapter, and then "Windows 7, 64 bit"

All I get is this page: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18268&ProdId=820&lang=eng

It says the same thing as Windows 7 compatibility center: The drivers are included in Windows 7, there is nothing to download.

But they are not included in Windows 7!

They were included in XP, and Vista could get them from Windows Update. But windows 7 can't do anything...
