Installation of Microsoft Autoroute 2007 with GPS locator

Having installed the program successfully, I cannot access it. I receive a message that the Registry settings for the application were not copied correctly. I am then instructed to reinstall but get the same message. Microsoft state that this package is compatible with windows 7.

Can anyone help please?

    Thanks for your reply Yasser.

The problem arose originally because I had upgraded from Vista to Windows7.

I had previously had Microsoft Works Suite 2006 installed and Microsoft advised that this package was compatible with Windows 7. Unfortunately the  Autoroute2006 part of the package wasn't.

I then bought Autoroute 2007 which Microsoft said was compatible but after installation I still got the same "registry settings" message.

I then uninstalled both Works Suite 2006 and autoroute 2007 to give me a fresh start.

The next step was to install Autoroute 2007 which then worked perfectly.

Having done this I reinstalled Works Suite 2006 (excluding autoroute 2006) - this also worked fine.

Unfortunately when I then tried to run autoroute 2007 again, I got the same "refistry settings" message.

It was obvious then that there was a conflict between the Works Suite and Autoroute 2007.

The problem was then solved by entering the following sequence

    Control Panel

    System & Security

    Troubleshoot common computer problems

    Programs

    Program compatibility

    Microsoft Autoroute 2007

    Troubleshoot program

    The program requests additional permissions

Having followed this chain, which only needs to be followed once, when I then try to run autoroute 2007

I am asked the usual question "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer"

By selecting "yes" i can now run the program satisfactorily.

This might seem a long way round but it has worked.

I had done this before I read your reply so I haven't tried your suggested solution.

    Regards
