I have tried the posted 'fixes' "Try uninstall and reinstalling the games". This does NOT fix my problem.

Any more suggestions from ANYONE?

Thank you

Here's what fixed it for me:

Go to Control Panel\Performance Information and Tools\Adjust Visual Effects.  I had originally selected "Adjust for Best Performance" which disables numerous visual effects.  I changed that to "Adjust for Best Appearance".  All of the Solitare animations now work.

Cheers!

John

    Mike,

I did what John recommended below, and it worked fine for me.  thanks John!  Everything is back to normal.  and also, thank you Mike for your attention.

by the way, do you have a website that windows 7 users can use to make suggestions to Microsoft about future Windows 7 updates?

    walker.em,

Try creating a new user account and testing the game on it.  Let us know what video card you have and the driver info.  Also let us know what version of Windows 7 you are running, what version of Windows you upgraded from, and how you performed the upgrade.

    Mike,

Thank you for the suppport and attention to the matter.  I too am having this problem.  I've updated my drivers, and I've done the sfc /scannow thing.  Uninstall all games, then reinstalled.  Still, the solitaire and Titan Chess animations don't work.  The animations box is checked on both, but greyed out.

This just started happening a few days ago.  I've installed no new programs or changed my windows configurations that could have caused anything to go wrong ............. that I can think of, at least.

    What else do you recommend?

    stealyitis,

Have you upgraded the video card driver since the upgrade to Windows 7?  If not make sure that you have the latest driver by check the website of the graphics card manufacturer.  Also verify that your other hardware drivers are up to date.  Do you have Aero turned on with your desktop and does it work properly?
