I have been using my Simatic Step7 software in Windows Vista SP2 for more than a year without problem. But recently some .dlls were missing and my Step7 program was not working. I uninstall the program and install it again but I have this message "The registry database is not set up correctly for the

SIMATIC Manager".   I unistall and reinstall again but the same. I contacted Siemens and they said that I might have problem with my Windows.  Please help.

Hello Sly Espina,

Did anything change with your computer since your Simatic Step7 sofware quit working? Did you add any software or install any Windows Updates?

If possible, you might try and see if you can go back to a System Restore point.

To choose a System Restore point,

·         From the Desktop click the Pearl (start) button

·         In the Search Field type “System Restore” and hit enter

·         Once System Restore is open, select the option “choose a different restore point” and hit next

Once on the next screen, pick a restore point to go back to when it last worked for you. Once you select the restore point, click next, then select finish, this will start the restore process.

If you have some dlls that are not working correctly, you can try and register them.

Go to Start,

regsvr32 <path & filename of dll or ocx>

Please reply back and let us know if this helps to resolve your issue.

Sincerely,

Marilyn
