    Hi averlinden11,

We would like to know the make and model of the game controller and joystick.

    1.      Check if the game controller is compatible with the version of operating system installed on your computer.

You may refer the below link to check the compatibility:

    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/en-us/default.aspx

    2.      Make sure you have installed the software related to the game controller.

    3.      Check if the device is getting detected in device manager. Follow the steps to go to device manager

    i.                    Click Start, type devmgmt.msc and press enter.

ii.                  Search for the name of the device

If the device is not getting detected in device manager, then check if it is hidden device.

    i.                    Click show hidden devices under View

ii.                  Expand all the nods under device manager

iii.                There would be many grayed out entries in device manager uninstall all the grayed out entries under all the nods and then restart the computer and plug the external device to the computer and check if it works.

    4.      You may run the Fix it tool from the below link:  Hardware devices not detected or not working:

    http://support.microsoft.com/gp/hardware\_device\_problems

Link for reference: Tips for fixing common driver problems: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Tips-for-fixing-common-driver-problems

I wonder why the Logitech driver/software was not allowing profiles ?

Did you use the software from Logitech in the link below ? As with all Logi  controllers,

the software comes with a good number of pre-configured profiles in addition to being

able to make your own.  -

    http://www.logitech.com/en-au/support/extreme-3d-pro?osid=14&bit=64

I don't have the joystick, but this version is fully functional with my Logi RumblePad and

    Wheel on Win7 64bit.

I have a logitech extreme 3d pro that has worked for several years and initially I used the logitech drivers but they had no way to configure the settings ( go figure ) so I uninstalled the mfrgs driver and let windows (Win7x64 OS) do it for me and it worked like a charm and we're talking 2 yrs. Today having some issues with it I decided to redo it but now I get ''device not recognized ''.

What would cause a perfectly good driver to go bad and why doesn't it recognize it any longer? I have uninstalled it in Device Manager but when I plug it in and I have tried all 6 USB 2.0 ports it still doesn't work properly. I keep getting Windows Did Not Install Your Device and Could Not Find a Driver....seems odd. The Logitech driver works but as I stated for some reason it doesn't have a way to configure the settings all it has is a little utility to see if it works.

I did the Fix-It utility and it still comes up unable to find driver and I do have the Windows set to Automaticaly install drivers...beats me why a driver that was there isn't there any more and not in the windows library of drivers....
