Uninstall Incompatible Program -- iKernel.exe cannot be found

Program incompatible with Vista (32-bit) was installed by multifunction driver.  When I try to uninstall toolbox in order to install a version that is compatible, I receive the following message: "The InstallShield Engine (iKernel.exe) could not be launced.  The system cannot find the file specified."

I have searched a number of paths to try and find a solution, and contacted both the printer manufacturer and the software maker (one of several programs within the toolbox) of the incompatible program.  No answers yet on how to uninstall, and whether iKernel.exe is critical for any other Vista installations.  (I've previously installed a number of other programs, and never encountered a problem.
