make sure wireless switch is on

Hi I have searched everywhere Daughters wireless connection has gone I try to reconnect but im being told to make sure wireless switch is on.Were do I find this on a desktop computer thank you for any advise.

    There is no switch on a desktop computer. What wireless network adapter are you using? One that is inside the computer (PCI card) or one that is a USB stick? Make/model? What happens when you try to connect? If there are error messages, please quote them exactly. Please also answer:

    The First Question Of Troubleshooting: If the problem is new, what changed between the time things worked and the time they didn't?

    The Second Question of Windows Troubleshooting: what is the malware/virus status of the machine? If you think it is clean, what programs (and versions) did you use to determine this?

    I often find that disabling the wireless connection in Network Connections (right click and hit Disable) then, when it shows as Disabled, re-Enabling it (right click and hit Enable) works. This is normally only for errors that can be fixed by restarting, but only takes a sec to do.

    If that doesnt work, is the Wireless adapter built in or some kind of USB controller?  Have you tried restarting?
