    Hi xXDreamerXx,

    a. What exactly happens when you try to print? Do you get unwanted smudges and lines while printing?

If this is the case, you need to clean the nozzle.

To clean the nozzle, follow this step:

    1. Open Devices and Printers by clicking the Start button, and then, on the Start menu, clicking Devices and Printers.
    2. Now right click on the Printer and select “Printer Properties”.
    3. In the Advanced tab, click on “Printing Defaults”. Now select “Maintenance” tab.
    4. Click on “Nozzle Check” to check whether the nozzle has been clogged and you cannot print properly. If yes, click on “Deep Cleaning” to clean the nozzle thoroughly. Click Apply. Click **OK.**Check if this helps you to print properly. Keep me posted on the same.

    Hi Divya

I have exactly the same problem as Dreamer.  I tried doing what you suggested, but I got only as far as "Printer Defaults".  When I clicked on that, I got a window which didn't include a "Maintenance" tab - instead there is only a "Setting" tab, and a button for updating the driver.  When I tried this, my printer stopped working altogether, and I had to restore my computer to get it back to how it was before.  Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Best wishes

    Tania

Hi - this is no use for me as I do not have a Maintenance tab; only a "Setting" one... to be honest, it seems like the option to manually clean everything myself has disappeared!

    Please help...

As a follow-up, I'd like to say that this option was available and easily found before I was migrated from XP - I see no reason why any reference to manufacturer material should be required.

Where has the manual control for maintenance gone?

    Hi Tania,

    a. What is the make and model of your printer?

    b. What are the options that are present in the Settings tab?

It would be better that you check for the Nozzle clean option on the printer manual if present. Visit the manufacturer's website and download the manual if you do not have one.
