    Hi Niceguy2463,

    Welcome to Microsoft answers.

    ·         When do you get this error message?

    ·         Is the USB device not getting detected on the computer?

    ·         Was it working fine before?

    ·         Have you made any recent changes on the computer prior to the issue occurred?

I suggest that you update the drivers for device from the manufacturer’s website and check if the issue still persists, you may also try updating the drivers in Compatibility mode and check.

Refer the link: Update a driver for hardware that isn't working properly:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isnt-working-properly

Refer the link to update the drivers from compatibility mode and check:

Make older programs run in this version ofWindows: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows
