    Hi,

Which version of easy VHS to DVD are you trying to install?

If your software is compatible then it should install without any issue. However, you may try installing it compatibility mode and check if it gets installed.

Using Third Party Software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the use of Third Party Software can be solved. Using Third Party Software is at your own risk.

Steps to run the Program Compatibility troubleshooter:

    1. Open the Program Compatibility troubleshooter by clicking the Start button, and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting. Under Programs, click Run programs made for previous versions of Windows.
    2. Follow the instructions in the troubleshooter.

I'm having the same issues with Roxio VHS to DVD- it says Windows requires signed drivers. When I follow your instructions to use the Compatibility troubleshooter (I'm running Windows 7 64bit Ultimate), this is the error message I get in Troubleshooter before it even starts:

A problem is preventing the troubleshooter from starting.

Man. Why is troubleshooting Windows always so complicated??

I recently purchased Roxio "Easy" VHS to DVD and was able to get the hardware (Video Capture USB device) to work ok. The problem was the capture software. After a week of troubleshooting with Roxio technical support, was never able to make it work. So I got a 100% free program on the net called "Golden Videos" from NCH Software and it works like a dream. It's very simple to use, has more adjustment possibility than Roxio's progam and most important...it works. It gives you the choice to save to a file or directly to DVD. Normally I save to a file and then check to make sure its ok before burning a DVD. I then use Windows DVD Maker, but you can choose whatever program you like. Hope my comments help.

This does not help as the Roxio site is too confusing for words.  What I need is a fix that allows Windows 7 to see the USB device - Like it did in XP !
