STAR-FORCE PROTECTION PROBLEM WITH PAC-MAN WORLD 2 PC GAME ON WINDOWS 7

I bought a new Computer PC game - Pac-man world 2, but cannot open it on my computer due to the protection software of Star-force. I tried to download an updated driver (from their website) or even to remove the protection driver but without success. It keeps on saying I must reboot. Although the specifications of the game say Windows XP - I do not have this problem with XP games I own and are able to open and play various other XP games on Windows 7. Can you please advice me with regard to a possible solution? Is a Windows 7 Star-force patch for Pac-man world 2 perhapse available somewhere?

    Hi,

The starforce website below has some information about which protection versions it supports for Windows 7. Please have a look.

    http://www.star-force.com/support/users/windows7/

    • Protection versions below 5.5 do not support Windows 7.

Users of products that protected with 3.x/4.x/5.0 versions should contact the protected program developers or publishers to obtain Windows 7 patches, or use previous Windows version to run the products.

    • Protection versions 5.5/5.6 partially support Windows 7.

Due to constant changes within Windows 7 during its development process some 5.5/5.6 builds may not fully support this OS. In case of failure please update the protection driver through the **protect.exe utility** or use a protected program developer’s patch to be able to run the protected programs in Windows 7.

How to know which protection version is installed for the application I use?

Find the protect.dll file in the protected application folder (the file can have another name, but it always has the .dll extension), right-click it and select Properties. Select Version tab then. The protection version number is in the BuildSignature (or BuildInfo) section.

Hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if you require further help.

    Regards

Yes I would read the above very carefully and make sure you don't reboot your pc until you do because you may not be able to start Windows again!

    Starforce can kill your Windows
