Hi,

Welcome to Microsoft answers.

I would suggest you to update the drivers for your graphis card, here are the steps:

1.      Open Windows Update by clicking the Start button. In the search box, type Update, and then, in the list of results, click Windows Update.

2.      In the left pane, click Check for updates, and then wait while Windows looks for the latest updates for your computer.

3.      If there are any available updates, click the link in the box under Windows Update to see more information about each update. Each type of update might include drivers.

4.      On the Select the updates you want to install page, look for updates for your hardware devices, select the check box for each driver that you want to install, and then click OK. There might not be any driver updates available.

5.      On the Windows Update page, click Install updates If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

If you cannot find the drivers, then go to manufacturer’s website download the latest drivers and install.

    Hi Guys,

Code 116 actually refers to the graphics settings in connection to the programs those which are using your graphics card. So not only an update can solve this problem but many times updates are made for the graphics card driver but still code 116 may remian.

So if this happens after an update then please check your graphics settings which you will find in : 1) Nvidia Configuration 2) ATI Catalyst Centre.

dont mess with the settings which will severe the problem. Make all graphics option to default and while playing games or watching HD allow the application to control and adjust the best performance settings for your system.

Also Processor, MOBO and Memory module affects much to this graphics code error. Blue screen do not only happens for graphics card or Windows but other hardwares may also have its hand on it.

If you feel nothing has changed after you have done all these then please contact a hardware specialist for resolving this issue. Because its after all your precious Computer which cost.

    Thank You.

    Regards.

    Hardware Consultant.

    Hi GustavoCappi,

I would suggest you to update the drivers (or) uninstall and reinstall the latest drivers by visiting the system manufacturer website.

I would also suggest you to check the event viewer to find what is causing the issue. Refer this link

    Hope it helps
