After upgrading to Windows 7 my display colors are over saturated. For the first few seconds, as the desktop appears, the colors are fine/normal then the color is "turned up". What can I do?

    Hello TJ Crumble,

Method 1: Sometimes if your display drivers are corrupt, you might come across with this kind behavior, I would suggest you download the latest display drivers from the manufacturer’s website and install same on the computer.

If you find any issues, installing the drivers, then let’s try to update the drivers manually from device manager and check if it helps. please follow the steps below:

You must be logged on as an administrator to perform these steps.

          1.    Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Security, and then, under System, clicking Device Manager.  If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.‌

          2.    In the list of hardware categories, find the device that you want to update, and then double-click the device name.

          3.    Click the Driver tab, click Update Driver, and then follow the instructions.  If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

**Method 2:**As I workaround let’s try to reduce hardware acceleration and check if it helps. To do so, please follow the steps below:

          1.    Open Screen Resolution by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, and then, under Appearance and Personalization, clicking Adjust screen resolution.

          2.    Click Advanced settings.

          3.    Click the Troubleshoot tab, and then click Change settings.  If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

          4.    Move the Hardware Acceleration slider to reduce it.

**Method 4:**I would also suggest you to change the theme and check if the issue is same. Please refer the link mentioned below:

I downloaded and installed new drivers, changed resolution and themes, changed fonts and text size. None of these changed the problem. I watch as my desktop appears and the colors are fine, but some process starts before the desktop icons appear that changes the screen colors. How can find which process is responsible. This PC was purchased in Nov. '09 and have only installed a few programs including Kaspersky anti-virus which has been constantly running.

Thank you for your response and future assistance,

    TJ Crumble
