Change text to speech speed

I have found where to change the Text to Speech speed but there is no OK button or Apply button and as soon as I exit the control it resets to the default.

My wife has no voice and uses TTS as her main method of communicating so we really do need to get this fixed,

How do I make a permanent change to the TTS speed?

    Hi,

Where exactly you are changing text to speech speed?

Do you have any other text to speech software installed on the computer?

If you have installed any other text to speech software’s, then I would suggest you to uninstall those software’s and check if it works.

Also try following the steps below and check if you can able to increase the speed of text to speech, here are the steps:

    1. Click Start, go to Control Panel.
    2. Select Speech Recognition.
    3. Click on Text to Speech, under voice speed move the slider to the extreme right.
    4. Click on apply and ok.

Still if you don’t find apply or ok to make changes, I would suggest you to run System File Checker and see if it helps, here are the steps:

     1.     Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator.

    2.     Click Continue or supply Administrator credentials if prompted.

    3.     In the Command Prompt window type the following, and press Enter:

    sfc /scannow

Here is an article that will give you information on SFC Scan:
