    Hi Mia,

Did you make any changes to the computer before this happened?

In Skype go to tools > options > video settings > select webcam and then choose Sony camera.

Restart the computer and check (follow similar steps on webcam companion**)**

Test to see if your motion eye works fine with the software provided by Sony.

    If the issue persists,

Step 1: Download and install the latest motion eye software from Sony

    http://www.sony-asia.com/support/product/vgn-cs23g

Step 2: Download and install the latest drivers:

When a device is not working properly, Device Manager will also usually display an error message with an accompanying error code. Firstly, check for any errors in device manager, to do this, follow the steps below:

    1.            Open Device Manager by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Device Manager.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    2.   In Device Manager, locate imaging devices and then double-click the device name.

    3.   If an error code has been generated, the code appears in the Device Status box on the General tab

    3.   Click the Driver tab, and then click update the Driver and follow the instructions.

Update a driver for hardware that isn't working properly

Alternatively, download and install the latest drivers from Sony

    http://www.sony-asia.com/support/product/vgn-cs23g

You may want check with Sony for any known issues
