Wireless Comfort Desktop 5000 Keyboard

I have recently purchased a Microsoft Wireless Comfort Desktop 5000 keyboard.

The Inteli Type Pro 7.0 software lists my keyboard, however, when I chose it from the list it will not let me configure the keyboard and keeps defaulting to a Wireless Desktop Elite Keyboard resulting in the hot keys on my keyboard useless. I have downloaded updates from Microsoft for the Inteli Type Pro but to no avail.

My OS is windows 7, 32-bit

Can anyone held.

    Hi James,

I would suggest you to install the latest drivers for your Microsoft Wireless Comfort Desktop 5000 keyboard IntelliType Pro 7.1 32-bit for Windows 7 and check if the hotkeys works. Access the link below to download the latest version of drivers for your keyboard and install it.

    Hi James Keegan,

Have you attempted to update the drivers manually to the model keyboard you have?

    1.       Tap the Start button, and then tap Devices and Printers.

    2.       Right click on your Keyboard.

    3.       Click on Properties.

    4.       In the Keyboard Properties dialog box, tap the Hardware tab, and then tap Properties.

    5.       In the Keyboard properties dialog box, tap Change setting.

    6.       On the keyboard properties dialog box, tap the Driver tab, and then tap Update Driver.

    7.       On the How do you want to search for driver software page, tap Browse my computer for driver software.

    8.       On the Browse for driver software on your computer page, tap Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.

    9.       On the Select the device driver you want to install for this hardware page, clear the Show compatible hardware check box.

    10.   Under Manufacturer, tap Microsoft.

    11.   Under Model, tap your keyboard model, and then tap Next.

    12.   On the Update Driver Warning dialog box, tap Yes.

    13.   On the Windows has successfully updated your driver software page, tap Close.

    14.   To apply the changes, restart your computer.
