Many thanks indeed! That has cracked it! I can now get a full A4 page of my horrible face............. just what I wanted.
How to print a Passport Photo - 45mm x 35mm?
On my system I have a confusing array of programs to display and print photos - but I cannot find one which will enable me to resize (if necessary) and print a number of passport-sized photographs.
Call me cheap, but it seems daft to sit in one of those draughty booths when all I want should exist on my system!

2010-01-04T15:42:32+00:00 Hi!
I suggest try the http://idphoto4you.com website.
It uses face detection to set size and position of head.
It is free.
Built-in standards for 63 countries.
You have to choose a country standard a print layout and upload a photo.
The server-side program detect the face on the photo and create a printable sheet of passport photos what you can download from the server.
Very important, you didnt allow resize the downloaded photo for the printer software.
MS printer softwares are very idiots, always resize the photos, so use another way to print the downloaded photo.

2012-07-31T08:20:09+00:00 There a lots of websites that offer this service but they all suck so I wrote my own!
It's free, easy and open source. No need to sign up or have nasty watermarks on the image etc.
Just upload your photo, choose your passport type (eg UK 45x35mm) then download a new image ready to print at 6"x4".
Enjoy!

2010-01-04T17:39:44+00:00 Very interesting, but I still cannot get the page of prints I need. If I select UK Passport as the standard I get pictures about 53mm x 42mm. The problem seems to be that if the pictures are accurately sized (as the download may well be), the print program (in this case it pulls in Windows Photo Gallery) insists on 'adjusting' each print to fit the A4 page. Also, I do not understand what the Print Size criteria is requesting (9x13, 10x15 etc. in cm - none of these seem like A4). What print software would you recommend?

2010-01-04T22:31:23+00:00 IrfanView is a very good software to print photos without resizing.
This software is free.
You can download from: http://www.irfanview.com/main_download_engl.htm
When you print the photo choose the Original size (from image DPI) option in Print size section.
On the bottom right you will see the correct print size (it is only informal).
I tried and worked fine!
Sizes are correct as possible.
Sorry about i didn't give you a complete advice in my last reply.
